Every free-to-air service in Sydney travels on a multiplex that sits on one RF channel at one centre frequency. Knowing those numbers tells you whether your antenna covers the right band, whether it is aimed at the right transmitter, and which services your TV should find after a tune.

It depends on the transmitter. VHF services sit on RF channels 6 to 12 and need a large, wide-element antenna. UHF services sit on channels 28 to 51 and need a smaller, closely spaced array. What should I do if only one network is missing?
