TV reception in Spring Farm
Free-to-air TV in Spring Farm comes from the Sydney main transmitter at Artarmon / Gore Hill / Willoughby, 51.8 km to the ENE (bearing 56°). It broadcasts on VHF Band III (channels 6–12) channels 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, horizontally polarised.
At this distance a high-gain VHF antenna is the standard fit; homes in dips or behind ridgelines often also need a masthead amplifier.
Pockets of Spring Farm shadowed from Sydney can use the Sydney South West translator (9.4 km SSW, UHF channels 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, H polarisation), which needs a UHF antenna pointed the other way, a common cause of "wrong antenna" reception faults after DIY installs.
