TV reception in Millgrove
Free-to-air TV in Millgrove comes from the Melbourne main transmitter at Mount Dandenong / Mt Dandenong, 28.5 km to the WSW (bearing 249°). It broadcasts on VHF Band III (channels 6–12) channels 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, horizontally polarised.
A medium-gain VHF antenna pointed WSW and mounted horizontally (elements flat) gives reliable reception for most homes.
Pockets of Millgrove shadowed from Melbourne can use the Warburton (Vic) translator (4.6 km ENE, UHF channels 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, H polarisation), which needs a UHF antenna pointed the other way, a common cause of "wrong antenna" reception faults after DIY installs.
