TV Antenna Installation Palm Beach 4221

TV reception in Palm Beach

Free-to-air TV in Palm Beach comes from the Gold Coast main transmitter at Mount Tamborine, 30.3 km to the NW (bearing 304°). It broadcasts on UHF (channels 28–51) channels 40, 41, 42, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, horizontally polarised.

At this distance a high-gain UHF antenna is the standard fit; homes in dips or behind ridgelines often also need a masthead amplifier.

Pockets of Palm Beach shadowed from Gold Coast can use the Currumbin translator (2.1 km SSE, UHF channels 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 49, 50, V polarisation), which needs a UHF antenna pointed the other way, a common cause of "wrong antenna" reception faults after DIY installs.
