TV reception in Piara Waters
Free-to-air TV in Piara Waters comes from the Perth main transmitter at Bickley / Carmel, 19.4 km to the NE (bearing 49°). It broadcasts on VHF Band III (channels 6–12) channels 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, horizontally polarised.
A medium-gain VHF antenna pointed NE and mounted horizontally (elements flat) gives reliable reception for most homes.
Pockets of Piara Waters shadowed from Perth can use the Roleystone translator (12.6 km E, UHF channels 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, H polarisation), which needs a UHF antenna pointed the other way, a common cause of "wrong antenna" reception faults after DIY installs.
