TV reception in Floreat
Free-to-air TV in Floreat comes from the Perth main transmitter at Bickley / Carmel, 28.1 km to the ESE (bearing 108°). It broadcasts on VHF Band III (channels 6–12) channels 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, horizontally polarised.
A medium-gain VHF antenna pointed ESE and mounted horizontally (elements flat) gives reliable reception for most homes.
Pockets of Floreat shadowed from Perth can use the Perth City translator (6.7 km ESE, UHF channels 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, H polarisation), which needs a UHF antenna pointed the other way, a common cause of "wrong antenna" reception faults after DIY installs.
