TV reception in Traralgon
Free-to-air TV in Traralgon comes from the Latrobe Valley main transmitter at Mt Tassie, 21.7 km to the S (bearing 170°). It broadcasts on UHF (channels 28–51) channels 28, 29, 30, 31, 33, horizontally polarised.
A medium-gain UHF antenna pointed S and mounted horizontally (elements flat) gives reliable reception for most homes.
Pockets of Traralgon shadowed from Latrobe Valley can use the Churchill translator (12.2 km SSW, UHF channels 46, 47, 49, 50, 51, H polarisation), which needs a UHF antenna pointed the other way, a common cause of "wrong antenna" reception faults after DIY installs.
