TV Antenna Installation Merricks 3916

TV reception in Merricks

Free-to-air TV in Merricks comes from the Safety Beach local translator at Arthurs Seat, 12.6 km to the WNW (bearing 288°). It broadcasts on UHF (channels 28–51) channels 40, 41, 43, 44, 45, horizontally polarised.

A standard-gain UHF antenna pointed WNW and mounted horizontally (elements flat) gives reliable reception for most homes.

The regional main transmitter (Melbourne, 65.6 km NNE) is generally not usable here without a high-gain installation; the translator is the intended service.
