TV Antenna Installation Ravenswood 7250

TV reception in Ravenswood

Free-to-air TV in Ravenswood comes from the NE Tasmania main transmitter at Mt Barrow, 21 km to the E (bearing 82°). It broadcasts on UHF (channels 28–51) channels 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, horizontally polarised.

A medium-gain UHF antenna pointed E and mounted horizontally (elements flat) gives reliable reception for most homes.

Pockets of Ravenswood shadowed from NE Tasmania can use the Launceston translator (5.8 km SW, UHF channels 34, 35, 36, 37, 39, H polarisation), which needs a UHF antenna pointed the other way, a common cause of "wrong antenna" reception faults after DIY installs.
