TV reception in Glebe
Free-to-air TV in Glebe comes from the Hobart main transmitter at Mt Wellington, 7.7 km to the WSW (bearing 251°). It broadcasts on VHF Band III (channels 6–12) channels 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, horizontally polarised.
A standard-gain VHF antenna pointed WSW and mounted horizontally (elements flat) gives reliable reception for most homes.
Pockets of Glebe shadowed from Hobart can use the Hobart NE Suburbs translator (5.6 km N, UHF channels 46, 47, 48, 49, 51, H polarisation), which needs a UHF antenna pointed the other way, a common cause of "wrong antenna" reception faults after DIY installs.
