TV reception in Dodges Ferry
Free-to-air TV in Dodges Ferry comes from the Hobart main transmitter at Mt Wellington, 32.7 km to the W (bearing 261°). It broadcasts on VHF Band III (channels 6–12) channels 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, horizontally polarised.
A medium-gain VHF antenna pointed W and mounted horizontally (elements flat) gives reliable reception for most homes.
Pockets of Dodges Ferry shadowed from Hobart can use the Acton Road translator (11.1 km WSW, UHF channels 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, H polarisation), which needs a UHF antenna pointed the other way, a common cause of "wrong antenna" reception faults after DIY installs.
