TV Antenna Installation Vista 5091

TV reception in Vista

Free-to-air TV in Vista comes from the Adelaide main transmitter at Crafers, 16.3 km to the S (bearing 187°). It broadcasts on VHF Band III (channels 6–12) channels 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, horizontally polarised.

A medium-gain VHF antenna pointed S and mounted horizontally (elements flat) gives reliable reception for most homes.

Pockets of Vista shadowed from Adelaide can use the Gumeracha translator (14.6 km ENE, UHF channels 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, H polarisation), which needs a UHF antenna pointed the other way, a common cause of "wrong antenna" reception faults after DIY installs.
