TV Antenna Installation Mawson Lakes 5095

TV reception in Mawson Lakes

Free-to-air TV in Mawson Lakes comes from the Adelaide main transmitter at Crafers, 20.7 km to the SSE (bearing 156°). It broadcasts on VHF Band III (channels 6–12) channels 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, horizontally polarised.

A medium-gain VHF antenna pointed SSE and mounted horizontally (elements flat) gives reliable reception for most homes.

Pockets of Mawson Lakes shadowed from Adelaide can use the Adelaide Foothills translator (12.7 km S, UHF channels 34, 35, 36, 37, 39, H polarisation), which needs a UHF antenna pointed the other way, a common cause of "wrong antenna" reception faults after DIY installs.
