TV reception in Black Forest
Free-to-air TV in Black Forest comes from the Adelaide main transmitter at Crafers, 12.2 km to the E (bearing 99°). It broadcasts on VHF Band III (channels 6–12) channels 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, horizontally polarised.
A standard-gain VHF antenna pointed E and mounted horizontally (elements flat) gives reliable reception for most homes.
Pockets of Black Forest shadowed from Adelaide can use the Adelaide Foothills translator (4.9 km NNE, UHF channels 34, 35, 36, 37, 39, H polarisation), which needs a UHF antenna pointed the other way, a common cause of "wrong antenna" reception faults after DIY installs.
