TV reception in Rangeville
Free-to-air TV in Rangeville comes from the Toowoomba East local translator at Rangeville, 0.6 km to the NNW (bearing 330°). It broadcasts on UHF (channels 28–51) channels 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, horizontally polarised.
A standard-gain UHF antenna pointed NNW and mounted horizontally (elements flat) gives reliable reception for most homes.
Pockets of Rangeville shadowed from Toowoomba East can use the Toowoomba translator (5.1 km NNW, UHF channels 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, H polarisation), which needs a UHF antenna pointed the other way, a common cause of "wrong antenna" reception faults after DIY installs.
The regional main transmitter (Darling Downs, 86 km NNW) is generally not usable here without a high-gain installation; the translator is the intended service.
