TV reception in Norman Gardens
Free-to-air TV in Norman Gardens comes from the Rockhampton main transmitter at Mount Hopeful, 45.5 km to the S (bearing 179°). It broadcasts on UHF (channels 28–51) channels 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, horizontally polarised.
At this distance a high-gain UHF antenna is the standard fit; homes in dips or behind ridgelines often also need a masthead amplifier.
Pockets of Norman Gardens shadowed from Rockhampton can use the Rockhampton East translator (3.6 km SE, UHF channels 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, H polarisation), which needs a UHF antenna pointed the other way, a common cause of "wrong antenna" reception faults after DIY installs.
