TV reception in Annandale
Free-to-air TV in Annandale comes from the Townsville main transmitter at Mount Stuart, 4.1 km to the SSW (bearing 197°). It broadcasts on UHF (channels 28–51) channels 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, horizontally polarised.
A standard-gain UHF antenna pointed SSW and mounted horizontally (elements flat) gives reliable reception for most homes.
Pockets of Annandale shadowed from Townsville can use the Townsville North translator (6.6 km N, UHF channels 46, 47, 48, 49, 51, H polarisation), which needs a UHF antenna pointed the other way, a common cause of "wrong antenna" reception faults after DIY installs.
