TV Antenna Installation Mount Ousley 2519

TV reception in Mount Ousley

Free-to-air TV in Mount Ousley comes from the Illawarra main transmitter at Knights Hill, 29.8 km to the SW (bearing 215°). It broadcasts on UHF (channels 28–51) channels 35, 36, 38, 39, horizontally polarised.

A medium-gain UHF antenna pointed SW and mounted horizontally (elements flat) gives reliable reception for most homes.

Pockets of Mount Ousley shadowed from Illawarra can use the Wollongong translator (3.7 km N, UHF channels 40, 41, 42, 44, H polarisation), which needs a UHF antenna pointed the other way, a common cause of "wrong antenna" reception faults after DIY installs.
