TV Antenna Installation Haywards Bay 2530

TV reception in Haywards Bay

Free-to-air TV in Haywards Bay comes from the Illawarra main transmitter at Knights Hill, 12.7 km to the SW (bearing 226°). It broadcasts on UHF (channels 28–51) channels 35, 36, 38, 39, horizontally polarised.

A standard-gain UHF antenna pointed SW and mounted horizontally (elements flat) gives reliable reception for most homes.

Pockets of Haywards Bay shadowed from Illawarra can use the Mount Kembla translator (14 km NNE, UHF channels 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, V polarisation), which needs a UHF antenna pointed the other way, a common cause of "wrong antenna" reception faults after DIY installs.

36	WIN36	585.5	UHF	Horizontal
