In this recent job in Morayfield, our technician Ahsan, one of our most experienced and highly skilled technicians, was called out to assist a customer who was experiencing low signal strength and unreliable TV reception across multiple channels. The issue had been ongoing for some time, with the picture frequently breaking up and some channels dropping out completely.
Diagnosing the Problem
After carrying out a full signal test and inspecting the antenna system, Ahsan quickly identified the source of the problem. The property still had an old mast-mounted amplifier and an ageing splitter, both of which had begun to fail over time. As amplifiers age, their performance drops, and older equipment can also struggle with interference from modern mobile networks.
The Original Setup
In the photo below, you can see the original setup before the repair. The amplifier mounted on the mast was outdated and no longer performing effectively, which meant the signal being distributed through the home was significantly weakened.
The Solution: A Modern Amplifier with 4G/5G Filtering
To fix the issue, Ahsan removed the old amplifier from the mast and installed a modern high-performance amplifier equipped with 4G and 5G LTE filtering. These newer amplifiers are designed to reduce interference from nearby mobile towers, helping maintain a cleaner and more stable TV signal.
New Splitter and Cable Management
Ahsan also installed a new splitter inside the ceiling space, ensuring the signal could be distributed evenly to all outlets in the home. While completing the work, he also reorganised and secured the existing cabling, leaving the setup far neater and more reliable than before.
The Result
In the photo below, you can see the upgraded system after the work was completed. Thanks to the new amplifier, improved signal distribution, and Ahsan's careful installation, the customer now enjoys much stronger signal levels and clear, stable TV reception across all channels.
